IPÉ-TAJIBO IS THE WOOD USED BY GOLDECK®, COMING FROM BOLIVIA'S FORESTS, WITH A CERTIFICATION OF FORESTAL ORIGIN (CEFOR)

 IPÉ-TAJIBO (Tabebuia Impetiginosa)

Albura wood's colour is yellowish white and duramen (heartwood) is slightly dark brownish-grey olive colour. It can also have fine brownish-grey streaks. Albura wood can be clearly differentiated. Wood fibre alignment is very fine and arranged in layers. It presents an interlocked fibre and can sometimes be very pronounced. Grain is subtle, though depending on the species, it can be medium. Wood has cavities filled with a greenish yellow deposit (lapacho).

Ipé wood is considered resistant against mushrooms, insects and termites. It possesses excellent conditions so that it can be used outdoors, since its saturation rate is very low and its density high; it, therefore, reduces determining expansion and contraction movements and accordingly, the lowest fissuring rate ever known.

Technical characteristics:

• Mass volume in green state (kg/m3 = 1,300)

• Mass volume at 12% (kg/m3) (density) = 1,050

• Total lineal tangential shrinking (T%) = 65

• Partial lineal tangential shrinking (R%) = 52

• Axial compression break capability at 12% (N/mm2) = 95

• Static flexion break capability at 12% (N/mm2) = 184

• Elasticity module in flexion at 12% (N/mm2) = 18,800
